Woodmansey Parish Council awards ‘Freedom of the Parish’ to Ann and Amanda

At the September meeting of the Parish Council, two more ordinary local people were recognised and celebrated for their extra-ordinary work in our community.

Mrs Ann Los is a well know character in the Parish and has worked relentlessly to make the community a wonderful place to live in, from tending communal flower beds to providing commemorative benches, Ann has carried on the decades legacy of her late husband Peter who was a true community hero who always had the betterment of the area in his heart.   Peter and Ann demonstrate a passion and determination that is indicative of their generation and the Parish Council is proud to acknowledge Ann’s work with the Freedom of the Parish award.

Amanda Beal is also well known in the community, particularly amongst the farming and equestrian communities, Amanda has always been at the forefront of efforts to protect the rural way of life in our parish, often an uphill struggle, Amanda demonstrated a passion and determination which the Parish Council is proud to acknowledge with our Freedom of the Parish award.

Amanda also served on the Parish Council for over 20 years, rarely missing meetings and championing the residents of the Parish and in particular those living in the Long Lane area, passionately fighting to protect the Lane for the many families, horse riders, cyclists and walkers – her common sense and determination are sorely missed on the Parish Council
