At our March 2025 Parish Council meeting, Cllrs welcomed Mr Richard Los to be formally presented with his ‘Freedom of the Parish’, in recognition and gratitude for all his years of service to the Woodmansey community. Like so many before him, Richard has put countless hours into his voluntary work at the Woodmansey Village Hall – he commenced doing this over 30 years ago and spent the last years of his service at the Hall as the Chair of the Committee.
Parish Council Chair Kerri Harold noted “the selfless, voluntary spirit of community heroes like Richard, enhance the lives of so many in our Parish and beyond. The ‘Richards’ of this world are unsung heroes who do not broadcast their efforts or crave attention, but for once as a Parish Council we are proud to put the spotlight on Richard and honour him with this award, which is the highest honour a Parish Council can bestow on one of its residents”.
Richard’s name will be entered onto the ‘Woodmansey Parish Council Register of Freeman and Freewomen of the Parish’ which is an official document which will be kept for future generations to note the names of those who worked so hard to improve our community
