I have only recently had the privilege of joining Woodmansey Parish Council. I have lived in and around the area all my life, firstly in my family home down Dunswell Road, Cottingham and then in the parish area of Beverley since my marriage in 1992.
The majority of my time is spent caring for my husband who has multiple sclerosis and my father who among other health issues has frontal lobe and vascular dementia. Due to the challenges I have come across whilst caring I have developed a keen interest in matters relating to disabled people and as my grandson has cerebral palsy and developmental delay.
I also have an interest in children with special needs and the services and education available to them. It is my hope that my involvement with the parish council will enable me to help people in the local community and ensure that our local rural areas are protected for the next generations.
