Concerns with regard to the new junction at Long Lane / Woodmansey Mile, specifically that vehicles are ignoring the signage and turning into Long Lane which is a designated ‘quiet area’

The Parish Council is currently supporting resident concerns that vehicles (including construction lorries) are ignoring the signage at the junction of Long Lane / Woodmansey Mile, and are turning into Long Lane.  This has resulted in an increase in volumes of traffic, speeding and lack of consideration for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders in what is a designated ‘quiet road’.

The Parish Council was hoping to hold a designated meeting with Bellway and ERYC however both have declined attending such a meeting.  Cllrs therefore intend to proceed with inviting residents to put their concerns and any solutions they would like ERYC and Bellway to consider in writing

The proposed solutions will then be put to ERYC and Bellway – could we ask residents to do this by Monday, 15th July which is the date of the next Parish Council meeting.

As well as pressing for new signage, the Parish Council’s own proposed solution is to install cameras at the junction which will hopefully deter drivers from turning into Long Lane as well as requesting establishing footpath(s) for the safety of pedestrians

Residents can write into the Parish Council as follows

By email – this is preferred –woodmanseyparishclerk@yahoo.com

By letter – The Clerk, 27 Willow Garth, Eastrington.  DN14 7QP
